Oasis return in 2027 with Liam Gallagher on vocals and Noel Gallagher on lead guitar, alongside Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Joey Waronker. Here is who plays what, why the line-up shapes the live sound, and where the songs came from.

Oasis is built on two brothers from Burnage, Manchester, doing different jobs. Liam Gallagher sings: the flat-vowelled, hands-behind-the-back delivery that is among the most imitated vocal stances in British rock. Noel Gallagher wrote the songs, plays lead guitar, and takes lead vocal on a handful each night — “Don’t Look Back in Anger” most reliably.

The rest of the 2027 line-up

Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs was the band’s original rhythm guitarist and played on the first two albums — the chord-block foundation those records are built on. Gem Archer joined in 1999 and became a core part of the later live sound. Andy Bell, previously of Ride, plays bass. Joey Waronker, whose credits include Beck and R.E.M., is on drums.

That line-up matters for what a show sounds like. Two rhythm guitars plus a lead is how the Oasis wall of sound is actually produced; it is not an effect added later.

A catalogue built for a shared voice
